Month 2
The "Swiss army knife" of oils is Lavender so, of course I had to order it in my 2nd month to have on display and use for my make and take workshops. I had planned to do a candle making one but in the end the children voted for slime! What a messy disaster! lol but they loved it and when we finally had a blend that worked we added a drop of lavender and they loved it. I'm really enjoying the lip balm, which I added just to nudge my PV points into 50. My lemon was all but finished so I decided to try some Lemongrass this time and love it as much, it's such a lovely clean, uplifting smell and really helps elevate the mood. I added Orange as that is another lovely citrus smell that the children could relate to.

Sarah invited me to the Young Living Day where they were launching the new Seedlings range, which I was excited about as my cousin was about to have a baby so I could buy them as a gift for her. They also had the much coveted starter kit on offer and I thought well, I need it to have on display at my classes so other people can see what they get ;-p Unfortunately I had already placed my ER order for the month so it didn't count towards my points, my impatience kicking in again! Although, in my defense, I didn't find out about the YL day until after I had placed my order. On the upside, I was able to chat to a lady that attended and managed to help her understand what the benefits of the starter kit were, especially as I was ordering one myself and she signed up under me and bought 2! One for herself and one for her mother. My first downline! :-)
What an amazing investment! I just love the diffuser, it makes such a difference being able to diffuse the oils rather than just evaporate them on the wax and candle holder that I had been using, which had previously housed my Yankee Candle addiction.
I set to work straight away experimenting with all the lovely oils that came with the set.

It's like Christmas when the box arrives!! It's so exciting unpacking all the goodies. I'm planning on saving up all my reward points for Christmas so I can have a nice big box to open then too lol
It's handy having the oils together in the box for taking around with me, although I think for my birthday I will treat myself to an oil bag.
We went to a camp for the weekend in our VW Crafter van that we are busy converting and I took my starter kit along and made a few aromatherapy bracelets to give as gifts for people to hang on their rearview mirrors or reversing cameras as the case may be. On the Friday night Kaydee, my daughter, came down with a tummy bug. With only the portable public toilets around you can imagine how much fun that was going across the field to them at 3:30am in the morning to empty out the sick bowl. I'm also particularly susceptible to tummy bugs. I rubbed the Digize and Thieves on her tummy and mine twice during the night and by the morning she was feeling better. I used my candle burner to burn some Thieves and Purification in the van to get rid of any lurking bugs and by lunchtime, she was happily running around eating ice cream. Yay starter kit!
At home, I mixed some Thieves and Lemon with salt and made myself a household cleaning spray, which is lovely! This was to tide me over till I could buy the cleaner mix.
I made myself some lovely bath soaks with two handfuls of Epsom salts and 4 drops of Panaway, which really helped my aching back from doing my van conversion. This became a regular treat to help me relax. I used my diffuser during my make and take classes as well as at night. It really helped lift the mood and freshen the room, I tried different combinations using Purification and Peppermint and a few others. I diffused some Thieves if anyone so much as sneezed in my direction! I put the roller ball attachment onto the Stressaway and put it in my handbag to be used daily, it not only helped my stress but is a lovely perfume too! All the girls in the office say I smell like a spa day!
I made up a roller bottle and gave the rest of the RC bottle to my dad to use the roller directly on his chest and the RC in the diffuser at home as he has just had another bout of Bronchitis. He loves it and was even able to do a bit of gardening! Although he went a bit mad with the diffuser and quickly worked through his supply so I'll have to look into ordering him a bigger bottle!
The only complaint I have about the starter kit is that the bottles aren't bigger! lol it certainly does give you a good taste of what the oils can do and very soon become indispensable in your life.
